Each year, over 80 active lifeguards give up their personal time to patrol the North Piha beach ensuring the safety of the public who flock there.
They put their lives on the line each weekend ensuring that overthe years, tens of thousands of people leave our beach with only happy memories of a day in the sun. Lifesaving is in their blood – it’s their passion. Most of what they do goes unnoticed and unrecognised, but they keep coming.
The United North Piha Lifeguard Service continues to create not only great members of our community, but also great New Zealanders.
